TPOPs is the Tehachapi Pops Orchestra, conducted by Mr. Daniel Musquez. The orchestra began March 2008 and has played at a variety of events throughout Tehachapi... Mountain Festival, Monolith Mural Dedication, BeeKay Theater (aka the ""Bookay" for our Halloween concerts!), Concerts in the Park, the Bear Valley Christmas Program, and the Air Force Flight Test Center 64th Birthday Gala, to name a few.
TPops orchestra is made up of musicians from the community, ages 8 to 80. We are open to all levels of players... some are just beyond beginners and some are seasoned musical pros. The goal for TPops is to have FUN through the sharing of music.
TPops rehearsals are on Monday evenings at 6:15 pm at Grace Fellowship Church located at 326 East Tehachapi Blvd. across from the Apple Shed. If you are interested in joining us, please contact Mountain Music at 823-9994, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or just show up!
TPops is grateful to our many loyal supporters. By contributing to the orchestra, you help to enrich our community through music. Your donations help make it possible for us to purchase music, musical instruments, and pay expenses. No musicians are paid for their services; TPops is Tehachapi's only all-volunteer community orchestra.
The Tehachapi Pops (T-Pops) Orchestra is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. All donations are tax-deductible.
Discover the joy of jamming, improvisation, singing, dancing and playing tunes together. Try different instruments, learn new tunes and styles on your main one, have fun doing creative art projects, learn about the local native American culture, or just enjoy the woods. There’s something for everyone at Camp Kiya!
“Kiya” (Kee-ya) means fun, laughter and play in the local Tehachapi native language, Nuwa (or Kawaiisu).
The camp is rustic, with a mess hall for meals and dancing, a campfire circle for gathering and singing, and cabins, campsites and shower facilities. Sleep in a cabin, your own tent or RV, or go home every night if you are local. We also have fine hotels in town only 20 minutes from camp.
